Sources tell TSN that the Oshawa General scoring star has waived his no-trade clause and approved a trade to the Knights after Generals' general manager-coach Chris DePiero and Knights' general manager Mark Hunter successfully concluded trade talks Thursday morning. Sources also tell TSN that Generals' defenceman Michael Del Zotto, a first round pick of the New York Rangers, is part of the trade package going to the Knights

It was probably better for Del Zotto and his development to be traded. It would have been difficult for him to try and carry the Generals through the rest of the season by himself since it was a sure thing that Tavares would be traded. Plus it will be a good experience for Del Zotto to be in the playoffs.
The Prospect Park has solid insight on the trade (here).
A quick look..
Evgeny Grachev - Didn't play as well in the World Juniors as many hoped, but he showed flashes of brilliance that has many Rangers fans imagining the possibilities for the big forward.
| 2008-09 | Brampton Battalion | OHL | GP 30 | G 19 | 16 | P35 |
Bobby Sanguinetti - Isn't ready NHL ready just yet, but has showed some good progress. He was selected to the AHL All-Star game.
| 2008-09 | Hartford Wolf Pack | AHL | GP 38 | G 3 | A 20 | P 23 |
Artem Anisimov -has already scored as many goals as last season with the Pack. He was snubbed off the AHL All-Star roster. Definitely deserving a call up, it's difficult to say when unless there's an injury or Dubinsky gets shifted to wing.
